Cookout offer Food Hygiene Training Courses for Expeditions.

Our courses are held at one of our many UK based centres.
We are certified by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.

We offer two courses:

FOOD HYGIENE COURSE
Full day course 0930–1600:
Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering Certificate

Course objectives:
* To ensure food is handled, prepared, stored and served as hygienically as possible
* To prevent food contamination
* To pass multiple-choice exam and gain a CIEH Certificate

Course content:
* What is food safety?
* Laws governing food safety
* Food poisoning – prevention, what is it and how do you get it?
* Temperatures – cooking, chilling and reheating food
* Storing food safely
* Personal hygiene
* Kitchen and cleaning

EXPEDITION FOOD HYGIENE COURSE
Half day course 0930–1300:
Tailored to Expeditions and Outdoor Education

Course objectives:
* To prevent food poisoning on an expedition
* To ensure food is stored, prepared and cooked as hygienically as possible

Course content:
* Importance of food hygiene on expedition
* What is bacteria?
* High risk foods
* Sources of food poisoning
* Prevention of food poisoning
* Water purification
* Toilets
* Personal hygiene
* The expedition kitchen
